The ordering process

Most orders follow the same five stages. Timelines and exact terms vary by supplier and project — treat this as a map, not a contract.

  1. 1. Requirements & inquiry

Gather products, quantities, sizes, deadline and design status, then send a complete first inquiry. Our free order planner generates this summary for you.

  2. 2. Design & confirmation

Mockups are revised until you approve a final version. Check names, numbers and colors carefully — approved artwork becomes the production reference.

  3. 3. Sampling

A fit or printed sample confirms quality before the full run. Especially recommended for first orders or new designs.

  4. 4. Production

After sample approval and a locked size breakdown, production starts. Changes after this point are costly or impossible.

  5. 5. QC & delivery

Check quantities against your order list on arrival, let members verify their garments, and raise any issue within the agreed claims window.

Design file preparation

Well-prepared files shorten the design stage considerably. Suppliers will usually tell you their exact requirements — these are the norms in this industry.

Vector logos

AI, EPS or print-quality PDF. Website screenshots and small bitmaps cannot be printed cleanly.

Color codes

Pantone or CMYK values for every team color, not visual approximations. Screen colors shift between devices.

Names & numbers

A checked list, letter by letter, with positions. This is the most common source of reprints.

Sponsor approvals

Written permission for every sponsor logo you include, with placement notes.

Fabric selection & use cases

Skating apparel lives between two demands: aerodynamic smoothness and athletic ventilation. Most garments combine several materials. See our fabric guide for the full picture.

Racing skinsuits
Smooth, dense polyester-elastane knits for low drag, with stretch that holds in the crouch position.
Training & warm-up wear
More emphasis on breathability and durability than pure aero performance.
Ventilation zones
Mesh panels under arms and along the back where airflow matters most.
Printing method
Sublimation is the norm for colorful designs — colors bond into polyester fibers rather than sitting on top.

Sizing collection & confirmation

Sizing causes more problems than any other stage — and it is almost entirely controllable. Measure people, do not guess sizes. Then plan for the reality that rosters change:

  • Measure chest, waist and height for each member, and record against the supplier's size chart.
  • Decide a policy for between-sizes members before collecting, not after.
  • Order a realistic buffer — new members arrive, garments get damaged.
  • Youth teams: size for mid-season, not measurement day.
  • Confirm whether individual size mixing within the order is included in the quoted price.

Quantities, MOQ & lead time

Suppliers set minimum order quantities and production schedules individually — they depend on product type, design complexity and the supplier's capacity at the time. Rather than quoting numbers we cannot stand behind, we recommend asking suppliers directly: what are your MOQs per product, your price breaks at higher volumes, and your realistic production window for this order, in writing? The answers belong in every quote you compare.

Sampling, production checks & delivery

Quality is decided at three checkpoints: the sample (does the design and fit work?), pre-delivery (do quantities and sizes match the order?), and on arrival (does every member's garment actually fit?). Do all three, keep the order communication channel open until the last one is done, and file any claims within the window you agreed with your supplier.

Frequently asked questions

Does Sk8Go manufacture the apparel?

No. Sk8Go is a content and resources platform. We provide guidance and tools to help you plan and order; production is handled by whichever supplier you choose.

What is the minimum order quantity?

It depends on the product and supplier — we do not publish numbers we cannot verify. Ask suppliers directly and compare their written answers.

How long does a custom order take?

It varies with design complexity, season and supplier capacity. Plan backwards from your deadline, add a buffer, and get the timeline in writing.

Can I order just one or two pieces?

Most custom production is organized around minimum quantities. For single pieces, some suppliers offer alternatives — ask, and compare terms.

What design files do I need?

Vector logos, color codes, a checked name/number list and sponsor approvals. Details are in the design file section above.

Will the colors exactly match my brand colors?

Colors shift between screens and fabrics. Confirm Pantone/CMYK codes with the supplier and check them on a physical sample before production.

How do we handle members whose size is between two sizes?

Decide your policy before collecting sizes: size up for growth, or request adjusted fits if the supplier offers them. Consistency within the team matters more than a universal rule.

Can we reorder more pieces later?

Ask about reorder terms before the first order — whether colors will match the original run and what the minimums are for repeat orders.

How teamwear requests are handled

Sk8Go is an independent content platform, not a manufacturer. Right now, requests sent through this site are answered by our editorial team with guidance only. If a fulfillment partnership with a production company is confirmed in the future, it will be clearly disclosed on this page — with the partner named and the handover process explained — before any request is forwarded. We do not share your inquiries with third parties without your explicit confirmation.
